Jason, a highly accomplished producer, is a force to be reckoned with in the realm of multi-platform content creation. His exceptional work spans across advertising, feature films, online media, documentaries, and branded entertainment, garnering international acclaim and numerous awards. With his base in Richmond, Melbourne, Jason has become a prominent figure in the communications, media, and advertising industry.
Renowned for his ingenuity and entrepreneurial spirit, Jason has solidified his position as a leading producer of branded entertainment in Australia. His groundbreaking campaigns have left a lasting impact, earning recognition at prestigious events like the Cannes and London International Awards. Notably, Jason is the go-to producer for all of Qantas’ branded and safety video material. His clientele includes major brands such as Bonds, IGA, Cancer Council, RACV, Victorian Government, Australia Post, and Ford.
Jason’s journey began in iconic Advertising Production Houses like ‘The Film Business,’ ‘Great Southern,’ ‘Yarra,’ ‘Revolver,’ and ‘Film Graphics.’ His early years were marked by freelancing as a Line Producer, working closely with elite directors such as Rey Carlson, Steve Rogers, Paul Middleditch, Clayton Jacobson, and Tony Rogers. During this time, Jason honed his skills and expertise. He later spent eight years as a Senior Agency Producer at Clemenger BBDO Melbourne, while also freelancing with M&C Saatchi, Marmalade Communications, Leo Burnett, and JWT. These experiences established him as a prominent figure in the Advertising Production field.
Jason’s online content ventures have been nothing short of impressive. Noteworthy examples include the viral sensation ‘How to Talk Australians’ (directed by Tony Rogers, 2014), which accumulated over 6 million YouTube views. He also produced popular comedy web series like ‘Little Acorns’ (funded with support from Screen Australia, 2016) and the recent period black comedy web series ‘Bruce’ (directed by Tony Rogers, 2016), featuring acclaimed actors Angus Sampson and Richard Davies.
Driven by his passion for storytelling, Jason founded the renowned Film Production Company ‘Guilty’ and the specialized Corporate Content Specialist ‘+ape.’ These ventures have excelled in delivering iconic campaigns for esteemed brands like Qantas, NAB, Ford, Lion, I Select, RACV, JEEP, TAC, Woolworths, and the unforgettable Bonds ‘balls’ campaign.
Beyond his successes in advertising and online content, Jason has also made significant contributions to the world of film. His feature and short film credits have garnered nominations and awards at esteemed events such as the AFI, IF, and SPAA awards. Notable works include ‘One Perfect Day’ (directed by Paul Currie, 2003), ‘Little Deaths’ (2004), ‘Rats & Cats’ (Tony Rogers, 2005), and ‘Sucker’ (starring Ben Chessell, 2015). Additionally, he has worked on projects like the 50-minute telefeature ‘The Heartbreak Tour’ (directed by Ben Chessell, 2005), the ABC documentaries ‘Beyond The Backyard’ and ‘Shadow Play’ (directed by Josh Whiteman, 2009), ‘A Brilliant Genocide’ (directed by Ebony Butler), and the TV docudrama ‘Tom Wills’ for Channel 10 (directed by Maurice Dowd, 2016).
Despite his busy schedule, Jason managed to produce the feature film ‘Sibling Rivalry,’ directed by Clayton Jacobson. Starring Shane Jacobson, Sarah Snook, Lynette Curran, and Kym Gyngell, this remarkable project wrapped up production in June 2017. Set against the backdrop of Melbourne, the story unfolds with the backdrop of a car accident.
